The Right Material Solution for Every Task

The requirements for an exoskeleton are diverse. Some components must withstand high forces and be durable, while others should be as lightweight as possible or enable specific movements. That is why there is no single “perfect” material, but rather the right material solution for each individual component.

Especially with products like the S700 active shoulder exoskeleton and the B900 back exoskeleton, every component influences how comfortable to wear, stable, or durable the final product will be. LyondellBasell therefore supports exoIQ throughout the entire development process in finding the best possible balance between strength, weight, processability, and design for each component.  

Among other materials, Schulamid is used for high-strength structural components, Hostacom for medium-strength structural components, and Moplen polypropylene for lightweight structural components.
